 In Europe

The European Union will devote this year to enhance the external action of its institutions in development policies. 2015 will be a unique opportunity to raise awareness of Europe’s commitment to eradicating poverty in the world. And to foster among European citizens the joint participation.

The 2013 Eurobarometer gave a surprising insight into how EU citizens see development:

  • Over 80% believe that development aid is important
  • 60% are in favor of increasing the aid
  • Two thirds believe that the fight against poverty in developing countries should be a main priority of the European Union
  • At the same time, 50% say ignore what purposes European aid is intended

Europe 2015 will every effort to explain to citizens how European aid for developing and demonstrating that have real effects work. Will also seek to show its citizens that all funds are used in the best possible way to improve the quality of life for thousands of people around the world.
